The Abia State Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Chief Chaka Chukwumerije has restated his determination to reinvigorate the Ministry and make it the envy of other Ministries in the State.
The State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti had merged the Ministry of Lands and Housing together.
In a press release jointly signed by Sir Uzomba Ekwuribe and Josephine Ogwo, Directors of Information, shortly after the reception of the Commissioner by the joint Management and Staff of the former Ministries of Lands, Survey , Urban Planning and Housing, Chief Chukwumerije, who was accompanied by a retinue of prominent Politicians from Umunneochi Local Government Area, Abians and friends assured the Management and Staff of the Ministry of his resolve to tap into their wealth of experience in order to change the narrative of the Ministry.
While calling for the support and cooperation of the Management and Staff of the former Ministries of Lands, Survey , Urban Planning and Housing, the Commissioner, appreciated Gov. Alex Otti for his choice as Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry and assured him and Abians of his resolve to excel in office.
Receiving the Commissioner earlier in the former Ministry of Housing, the Acting Permanent Secretary and Director, Quantity Surveying Department, Sir Uche Ralph Owoh, assured him of the support of the Management and Staff while appreciating the Governor for appointing and swearing in Chief Chaka Chukwumerije as Honourable Commissioner.
His counterpart in the former Ministry of Lands and Acting Permanent Secretary, Surveyor Anthony Ivonye in his address, described the choice of Chief Chaka Chukwumerije as germane and very commendable.
He assured that the Commissioner would be assisted to hit the ground running by the Professionals in the former Ministry of Lands, Survey and Urban Planning, Umuahia.
The event which saw the Commissioner taken round the two Ministries by the Management of the two Ministries, witnessed prayer sessions and words of commendation.
