The Abia State government has lauded Track Care construction company for the level of work being carried out by the construction firm along Afor Ibeji, Old Umuahia road in Umuahia South L.G.A, of Abia State.

The Commissioner for works, Barr. Bob Chiedozie Ogu who made this known while answering questions from newsmen, said with the rigid pavement and the drainages created on both sides of the road, the road will not fail easily.

His words, “even if you ask a layman who was around this premises, who saw the level of rigid pavement, will know that this road has a guarantee to last and if you look at the way it is structured, you will see that it has drainages on both sides, which means that water will just find its way into the drainage channel, because it doesn’t matter how solid a road is, if you allow water to rest on it, the asphalt will fail with time. Since drainages were provided on both sides, it will be difficult to fail”.
Barr.Ogu said, “The governor has approved that we asphalt from Uchenna junction to ShopRite. They have done one lane on each side. Very soon, we will complete the road to ShopRite, so that Aba road in Umuahia will be motorable and beautiful from end to end. This is our target”.

The Abia State Commissioner for works who reeled out many road projects ongoing in the state, assured that the Osisioma flyover will be completed by the end of next dry season.

“The retaining walls of Osisioma flyover has been fully completed. What is remaining now is filling, compacting and asphalting and because it is rainy season, we can’t go into that, once the next dry season come on stage, we will try to deliver that particular flyover before the end of the next dry season”, Barr. Ogu assured.

He lauded Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for the numerous projects going on in the state despite the lean resources, adding, “the governor is almost acting like a magician”.
