The Ag Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan has restated her commitment and readiness to actualize capacity development in the most standardized and sustainable manner in the Nigeria Civil Service.

Dr. Yemi-Esan made this known during the opening ceremony of the induction training of newly recruited Officers on GL 07-10 in the Federal Civil Service which commenced on Monday, 03 February, 2020 at the Public Service Institute, Kubwa, Abuja.

She disclosed that the OHCSF has conducted a service wide Training Need Assessment (TNA) which is meant to ascertain knowledge and skill gap in the Civil Service, resuscitated the Departmental Training Officers (DTO) and also designed relevant training contents to fill the gaps in line with the report of the TNA.

She emphasized that induction training is a globally recognized and most fundamental kind of training every aspiring officer in any setting must be subjected to for the acquisition of relevant skills that would enhance job performance.

She therefore reminded the new officers of their call to service and advised them to be hard working and put in their very best at anything they do maintaining that the journey to the high point of their career has just begun.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Service Policies and Strategies in the Office of the Head of Service, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, explained that the pilot induction training is part of the implementation of the 2017-2020 Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP – 2020) which was designed for newly recruited Officers on GL. 07 – 10.

She explained that the training which is continuous is targeted at the backlog of Five Thousand (5000) newly recruited officers that are yet to be trained.
