AHFE Seeks Stronger Synergy  Benue Government, Pays Courtesy Visit to SSG

FIC Report (Benue State) – The Association of Heads of Federal Establishments (AHFE), on Thursday, April 23, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the Benue State Government (SSG), Deaconess Selemun Aber, to strengthen collaboration between federal agencies and the state government.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of AHFE, Mr. Phillip Abumere, said the purpose of the engagement was to formally notify the SSG of the presence and activities of federal establishments in Benue State, as well as highlight their contributions across various sectors.

Mr. Abumere explained that AHFE is a nationwide body with representation in all 36 states of the federation, serving as a coordinating platform for federal agencies.

He emphasized the readiness of these agencies to work closely with the Benue State Government in a mutually beneficial relationship.

He further noted that several federal ministries and agencies operate zonal headquarters within the state, delivering services that directly impact the people of Benue.

He cited the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) for its role in registering indigenes, thereby enhancing identity management and access to government services.

Also speaking, the Head of the Federal Information Centre (FIC), Makurdi, highlighted the agency’s mandate of disseminating information and promoting government activities at both the federal and state levels.

The AHFE Chairman appealed to the SSG to facilitate a meeting between the association and the Governor of Benue State, to further brief him on the operations and contributions of federal establishments in the state.

In her response, the SSG, Deaconess Selemun Aber, commended the association for the visit, describing it as timely and long overdue. She expressed optimism that enhanced collaboration between the state government and federal establishments would yield significant benefits for the state.

The SSG assured members of AHFE of the Benue State Government’s commitment to fostering a productive partnership aimed at driving development and improving service delivery across the state.
