Amusan, Brume Set to Hit Gold

Day 11 clearly holds a lot of promise for Team Nigeria as two of its brightest stars… Tobi Amusan and Ese Brume take to the tracks.

Fresh from very impressive showings at the World Championships in Eugene, Oregon, United States of America, both athletes, interestingly great friends, have been inspirational to the other athletes in camp.

They have refused to take anything for granted, training and working hard like they do for every high profile international competition.

Amusan, the reigning World Champion and World Record holder in the 100 hurdles will be aiming to successfully defend her Commonwealth Games title won in 2018 while Brume, who missed out of the 2018 Games will be seeking a repeat of her golden performance of 2014 in the women’s Long Jump.

The fledging Ruth Usoro is also in the final of the Women’s Long Jump, hopefully, Team Nigeria can achieve a gold and a silver.

Also on the menu on Sunday are the men’s and women’s finals of the 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relays.

With the eye catching performances on display in the semifinals of these events, it would not be out of place to expect some pleasant surprises.

Team Nigeria will definitely have a lot to cheer and celebrate this Sunday.
