FIC REPORT (BENUE STATE) – The Benue State Government has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, members of the Federal Executive Council and Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora on the occasion of the nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
In a goodwill message issued to mark the anniversary, the State Government, on behalf of the Benue State Executive Council and the people of the state, extended warm felicitations to the President and all Nigerians, while reflecting on the nation’s journey since independence in 1960.
The Governor noted that 66 years after attaining independence, Nigeria continues to draw strength from the sacrifices of its founding fathers and the resilience of generations of citizens who have remained committed to the Nigerian project.
He described the country’s rich diversity of peoples, cultures and languages as a source of strength, stressing that the nation’s shared aspirations and common destiny remain greater than the differences that may divide its citizens.
The Benue State Government reaffirmed the state’s contribution to national development, particularly through agriculture, noting that the hard work of its farmers continues to support Nigeria’s food security and economic growth.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to peace, food security, good governance and the welfare of the people, while expressing support for efforts by the Federal Government to build a secure, united and prosperous Nigeria.
The governor commended President Tinubu for his leadership and prayed for divine wisdom and strength for him as he continues to steer the affairs of the nation.
He further called on Nigerians to renew their commitment to national unity, hard work, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, expressing optimism that a greater and more prosperous Nigeria remains achievable.
