CP Orutugu Calls For Stronger Coordination Among Security Agencies In Anambra

FIC Report (Anambra State) – The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has emphasized the need for sustained and seamless coordination among security agencies to enhance public safety and uphold the rule of law.

CP Orutugu, during a familiarization visit to the State Director of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Awka, reiterated the importance of a unified approach to tackling security challenges in the state.

He highlighted three key areas where enhanced inter-agency collaboration could significantly improve security outcomes as Improved Intelligence Sharing – Ensuring timely and accurate information exchange to anticipate and prevent security threats. Enhanced Operational Efficiency – Streamlining responses to avoid duplication of efforts and maximize effectiveness as well as Increased Public Trust – Strengthening confidence in security agencies through coordinated and transparent operations.

The police Commissioner stressed that proactive collaboration among security agencies remains a critical strategy in addressing crime, insurgency and other security threats affecting Anambra State.

He further assured that under his leadership, the Anambra State Police Command will continue to engage with relevant security agencies to ensure a harmonized and effective security framework across the state.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, reaffirmed the commitment of the police force to transparency, professionalism, and collaboration in safeguarding lives and property in Anambra.
