Cyber-Security Training for Staff of Information Technology Department of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture

The Department of Information Technology (IT), of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture organizes a training on Cyber-Security for all Information Technology staff, starting from Monday, 6th May, 2019, at the NITDA Knowledge Access Venue, National Press Centre, Radio House,Abuja.
The objective of the training is to equip participants with necessary knowledge and skills to protect information assets, as well as immerse them into an interactive environment, where fundamental understanding of various computer and network security threats are acquired.

Speaking at the opening of the training, the Director of IT Department, Mrs Comfort Ajiboye, stated that the current spate of Global Cyber-attacks had become alarming and that this was brought to the notice of MDAs by NITDA, adding that there is the need to ensure all Departments of ICT are adequately equipped and trained on how to prevent, manage attacks or threats to network infrastructure and online platforms.

Mrs Ajiboye further stated that the training is to adequately equip participants with the relevant skills and knowledge to avert and counter Cyber-Security attacks. She emphasised the need for all participants to take the training seriously as any knowledge gained will be helpful not only within the office environment, but also, with personal interaction on Cyber space through the use of mobile devices and the internet.
