The Minister of State, Petroleum Resource, Chief Timipre Sylva has Congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of this year’s Democracy Day Anniversary.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Julius Bokoru, Chief Sylva described June 12 as a moment of national pride and introspection, noting that a virile democracy is a veritable platform for entrenching national integration and greatness.
Sylva acknowledged that Nigeria’s democracy has had it’s share of hiccups and setbacks, but expressed optimism that the country will come out stronger and better.
The Minister tasked Nigerians on “the need to guard our hard earned democracy jealousy and shun deeds capable of undermining it”.
He praised Nigerians for embracing democracy, their love for country, sense of patriotism and nationhood.
The Minister also thanked President Mohammadu Buhari for his commitment to the tenets and values of democracy, which apparently have enhanced and strengthened the current democratic experience.
