FIC Report (Ebonyi State) – The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) EBONYI State Chapter joins the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day, honouring the resilience and determination of women the world over, with specific reference to Nigerian women.
Chairperson of NAWOJ in the state, Comrade Nkechinyere Oginyi, calls on the womenfolk to recognize progress made for them and actively engage in overcoming the remaining barriers to gender equality, in line with this year’s theme, “Accelerate Action.”
She stated that this special day celebrates women’s achievements, courage, and unwavering commitment to creating a more equal and just world,” adding that “It serves as a reminder that women’s rights are human rights, and that equality is essential for a prosperous and peaceful world.”
NAWOJ Ebonyi salutes women who are breaking barriers, raising the bar, and pushing boundaries for their contributions, with Comrade Oginyi emphasizing that women deserve to be valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
She concluded by saying that they ” call on governments, corporate organizations, businesses, and individuals to join us in this effort to create a world where women and girls can thrive and reach their potential.”
