Edo State's First Flyover Nears Completion as Government Accelerates Oversight

FIC Report (Edo State) – Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebho, has announced that the construction of the State’s Inaugural Flyover at Ramat Park has reached 60 percent completion, highlighting the administration’s commitment to responsible resource management and Infrastructural development.

The Governor made the disclosure during an Inspection Tour of the Project Site in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, expressing satisfaction with the progress and reassuring residents that Funds allocated from the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are being efficiently utilized for impactful projects.

Governor Okpebho emphasized the significance of the project, stating, “This flyover is a direct result of the Federal Funds received, demonstrating that the Renewed Hope Agenda is yielding tangible results. We are committed to supporting our contractors to deliver quality infrastructure that benefits Edo people.”

He further noted the importance of swift project completion, aiming to demonstrate the State’s progress and distinguish its governance style from opposition parties. The Inspection route included Uteh Road, Palace Road, Upper Mission Extension, culminating at the Ramat Park site, with the Governor engaging with residents, traders, and commuters along the way.

Special Adviser on Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Engr. Mrs. Phoebe Bello Williams, provided technical details, confirming that the project, initially scheduled for 18 months, is expected to be completed in 14 months. She explained that significant milestones have been achieved, including the launch of beams and ongoing work on retaining walls, with weather conditions being monitored to facilitate further progress.

Once completed, the Ramat Park Flyover will be the first of its kind in Edo State, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion, improving mobility, and boosting the infrastructure landscape of Benin City and its surrounding areas.
