Education Ministry organises Maiden Convergence Education Summit in collaboration with a Nigerian in Diaspora

The Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu has emphasized government’s determination to place  high premium on the attainment of quality education for all Nigerians irrespective of ages gender, geographical and cultural settings.

Mallam Adamu  made these assertions  in his address delivered at the 1st edition of the Convergence Education Summit organized by the Ministry in Abuja today 14th November, 2017.

The Minister stated that Nigeria’s education system must prepare its children for the “responsibilities of citizenship and national development”.  According to him, the system must also be able to produce middle level and high level manpower with the requisite skills and know-how needed to play active parts in the country’s drive to prosperity and growth”.

Malam  Adamu represented by Mr. Lawrence Ogundana, Director, Library Services, contained that the declaration of “Emergency in the Education Sector” and the development of the Ministerial Strategic Plan” (MSP) for the education sector are all pointers to the recent actions being taken towards the revitalization of the education sector.

In his goodwill message, Senator Gbenga Ashafa advised that contemporary training, teaching methods and equipments being used in more developed countries to educate the minds of their people be adopted by our public education managers for improved results.

The Summit with the theme: “New Shifts In Education As A Result Of The New Dynamics in our world today” was attended by education managers, planners and other stakeholders from foreign, national and local institutions and authorities in the country.
