FIC Report (Kano State) – Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the quality of education in Kano’s public schools, focusing on upgrading infrastructure and creating a conducive learning environment. During a visit to Governor’s College, Yusuf inspected newly delivered furniture and instructional materials provided by the Ministry of Education.
Governor Yusuf’s administration aims to revitalize public primary, junior, and secondary schools across the state, reversing the deteriorating state of the education sector. The Governor has declared a state of emergency in education, promising significant progress and restoration of Kano’s educational prestige.
The state government has disbursed over N1.9 billion to the Community Re-orientation Committee (CRC) for renovation of primary school classrooms and allocated N2.925 billion for construction of additional classrooms. This significant investment reflects Governor Yusuf’s unwavering commitment to ensuring quality education is accessible to every school-age child in Kano.
During this visit to Governor’s College, Yusuf inspected newly delivered furniture and instructional materials provided by the Ministry of Education. This effort is part of a broader initiative to revitalize public primary, junior, and secondary schools across the state.
The Governor interacted with enthusiastic students, teachers, and staff at the college. He promised swift reforms aimed at strengthening the academic experience and preparing students for a bright future. Yusuf expressed pride in the improvements made at the school.
To ensure student safety, Governor Yusuf announced plans to construct a pedestrian bridge near the College, along Ibrahim Taiwo Road. This project will prevent accidents and provide a secure passage for students.
The Governor’s commitment to education is evident in the investments made. These include infrastructure development, security measures, teacher capacity building, and safety features. With these initiatives, Kano State is poised for an education renaissance under Governor Yusuf’s leadership.
