Speaking during the inauguration ceremony held at the Board’s headquarters in Abuja, the Executive Secretary emphasized the importance of a robust and forward-looking strategic framework that will guide the Board’s operations, enhance service delivery, and strengthen its mandate of facilitating access to affordable housing finance for Federal Public Servants.

According to the Executive Secretary, the committee’s assignment comes at a critical time when the Board is seeking to consolidate its achievements, respond to emerging challenges, and align its activities with the Federal Government’s development priorities and housing objectives.

“The development of a comprehensive Strategic Plan for 2026–2030 is essential to ensuring that the Board remains responsive, innovative, and effective in meeting the housing needs of Federal Public Servants. This committee is expected to provide a roadmap that will drive institutional growth, operational excellence, and sustainable impact over the next five years,” she stated.

She urged members of the committee to approach the assignment with diligence, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility, noting that the members were carefully selected from different departments and units because the management believes that they are capable and resourceful.

The committee’s terms of reference include conducting a comprehensive review of the existing policies and documents affecting the operation of the Board, reviewing the Board’s vision, mission and core values, studying the Board’s proposed bill, digitalization of its operations and to formulate plans for the 2026–2030 period.

Responding on behalf of the committee, the Chairman and Director, Administration, Mrs Monica Igwe, expressed appreciation to the Executive Secretary for the confidence reposed in the members and assured her of the committee’s commitment to delivering a strategic document that will position the Board for greater effectiveness and improved service delivery.

The inauguration marks the commencement of a comprehensive strategic planning process aimed at strengthening FGSHLB’s institutional capacity and enhancing its contribution to the federal government’s efforts to promote affordable housing and homeownership among public servants.
