FIC Report (Ogun State) – Residents of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area in Ogun State have begun benefiting from the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda as the implementation of the HOPE Conditional Cash Transfer (HOPE-CT) Initiative commences in the local government.
The programme is one of the Federal Government’s flagship social intervention initiatives, designed to improve the living conditions of vulnerable households through direct financial support and expand access to government welfare programmes.
Across Ogun State, approximately 23,000 shortlisted beneficiaries are expected to benefit from the initiative. Each beneficiary will receive a total grant of ₦75,000, payable in three instalments of ₦25,000 through debit cards issued under the programme.
As part of the statewide rollout, 1,381 debit cards have already been distributed to beneficiaries in Yewa North Local Government Area, with the exercise now extending to Ado-Odo/Ota.
According to officials of the Ogun State Cash Transfer Unit, the Renewed Hope Agenda is aimed at ensuring that government assistance reaches those who need it most, thereby improving the welfare and economic well-being of vulnerable households across the state.
The State Cash Transfer Unit has assured residents that the implementation process will be conducted with the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and fairness. Only eligible beneficiaries will receive the grants, and all payments will be processed following successful National Identification Number (NIN) biometric verification.
The verification and debit card distribution exercise is taking place at the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Secretariat. Eligible residents are encouraged to cooperate fully with officials and complete all necessary verification procedures to facilitate seamless access to their grants.
The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to supporting vulnerable Nigerians through targeted social investment programmes under the Renewed Hope Agenda, ensuring that no eligible household is left behind.
