FIC REPORT (BORNO STATE) – The Federal Information Centre Maiduguri (FIC), led by its Head of Centre, Bunu Alkali Abdulsalam,has paid a courtesy visit to the state coordinator of Raw Materials Research and Development Council Borno State, Mohammed Yunus Ibrahim at the federal secretariat office Maiduguri on Monday.
The visit was aimed at strengthening the relationship between the Federal Ministry of Information And National Orientation and the (RMRDC), particularly in the areas of public information, strategic communication, public enlightenment,on the mandate of the raw materials council.
Speaking during the visit, the Head of Centre federal Information Centre Maiduguri, Bunu Alkali commended the state coordinator for his leadership and the efforts of the council towards bringing science and innovative development in the state.
Mallam Bunu Alkali explained that the ministry has been actively engaging communities across Nigeria listening to their concerns, responding to their queries, and promoting a better understanding of federal government policies.
According to him, the Raw Materials Research and Development Council RMRDC was established with the mandate to address challenges partinent to the manufacturing sector in the areas of raw materials sourcing, value addition geared towards development and effective utilisation of the country’s vast industrial raw materials.
The federal Information Centre Maiduguri commitment to strengthening professional collaboration between RMRDC and FIC, to meet growing demands from stakeholders and to exceed expectations.
The Head of Centre assured the state coordinator that the FIC Maiduguri was ready to collaborate with RMRDC,in ensuring that relevant information and official activities of the council receive appropriate publicity through professional communication channels.
Responding, the state coordinator, Borno State Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Mohammed Yunus Ibrahim, welcomed the Federal Information Centre delegation and expressed his appreciation for the visit.
The state coordinator said he was delighted to receive the leadership and members of FIC Maiduguri, describing the FIC Maiduguri as an important partner in the areas of public communication, image management and public enlightenment.
Mohammed Yunus described fic as a ” partner in progress”, stressing that effective collaboration between RMRDC initiatives to the people.
The state coordinator assured the fic delegation that the (RMRDC) would continue to maintain an open channel of communication with the Federal Information Centre Maiduguri and other relevant stakeholders.
