The Federal Government has said that as part of efforts to achieve its goal of internal security and public safety for all Nigerians, a multi-agency situation room has been established to provide a 24 hour manned information centre on all emergency security situations in the country.The Honourable Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen (Rtd.) Abdulrahman Dambazau, disclosed this when a delegation from the Senior Executive Course, No. 40 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos, paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja.

Stressing further that as part of efforts to harness the activities of all the security agencies for greater results, the Ministry of Police Affairs was integrated with the Ministry of Interior in 2015, with a view to striking a balance between the bureaucratic and operational affairs of the ministry and its agencies.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Professor Abu Galadima, stated that the team had come to the ministry as part of efforts to meet the mandate given to the Senior Executive Course, (SEC) set 40; to find solutions to the security challenges facing the nation, adding that the theme for the Senior Executive Course No. 40, 2018 was, “Strengthening Internal Security Framework and Community Policing in Nigeria: Models, Policy Options and strategies.”
Professor Galadima further pointed out that findings collated by the six teams of the set, sent to different security agencies in the country, will assist the Institute which is the apex think-tank in Nigeria to proffer durable solution to the persistent security challenges in the country.
