The Federal government Nigeria will never relent in providing care to victims of conflicts.

This was the position of the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Aisha Abubakar when she played host to the under-secretary General and special adviser of the secretary General on the prevention of genocide, Mr. Adama Dieng who paid a courtersy visit to her office.

The Minister said that most victims of conflicts are children and women. This is why the Ministry has embarked on programmes aimed at alleviating the suffering of women and children, she said.

Some of the programmes have short term effects and others are long term in nature.

The short term programmes includes the provision of shelter, feeding and Medicare.

The long term plans include but not limited to the provision of education for the victims. Adding that the 106 released Chibok girls have been sent to the American University of Technology Yola to continue their education.

The honourable Minister said that the Ministry has successfully rehabilitated, reoriented, reoriented, reunited and reintegrated women and children, victims of conflicts, with their families.

Earlier, the under Secretary General and special Adviser of the Secretary General on the prevention of genocide, Mr. Adama Dieng said that his visit is to enable him isolate all the security issues in conflicts regions including Nigeria, which is presently facing grave security challenges.

He said that no person was born as a terrorist. Environmental factors usually give vent for aggrieved persons to take up arms against constituted authorities.

He said that Boko Haram activities in the Lake Chad region and the North Eastern part of Nigeria, the Fulani Herdsmen conflict with farmers and kidnapping in the North West are of great concerns to the United Nation.
