The attention of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) has been drawn to a fraudulent Facebook account currently circulating and claiming to belong to the Director-General of the BPP, Dr Adebowale Adedokun.

This account is actively engaging members of the public, contractors, and stakeholders, often promising “fast-tracked” contract approvals, job opportunities, or soliciting fees for procurement-related services.

THE BUREAU HEREBY DECLARES AS FOLLOWS:

    ● The said Facebook account is FAKE. The Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement does not conduct official government business via private Facebook messages or personal social media accounts.

    ● All official communications regarding public procurement processes, guidelines, and contract notifications are disseminated exclusively through the Bureau’s official website (www.bpp.gov.ng) and the official BPP verified social media handles.

    ● The BPP and its Director-General will NEVER ask for money, gifts, or “processing fees” from the public or contractors to facilitate any procurement process. Any such request is a clear indication of a scam.

    ● Members of the public are strongly advised to refrain from engaging with this fraudulent account. Do not share personal data, bank details, or sensitive company information with these imposters.

●¡The Bureau is working with the relevant security and law enforcement agencies (including the Cybercrime Unit of the Nigeria Police and the DSS) to track down the individuals behind this impersonation.

    ● If you are unsure of the authenticity of any communication claiming to be from the Bureau or the Director-General, please contact us immediately via:

    Official Website: www.bpp.gov.ng

    Email: info@bpp.gov.ng / helpdesk@bpp.gov.ng

Head Office: 11, Suleiman Barau Crescent, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

    ● Anyone who transacts with these imposters does so at their own risk. The Bureau of Public Procurement will not be held liable for any financial loss or damages resulting from interactions with fraudulent social media accounts.

    e-Signed:

    Zira Zakka Nagga
Head of Press and Public Relations (BPP)
