FIC Report (Osun State) – Governor Adeleke of Osun State in his bid to get youths engaged, inaugurated ten thousand (10,000)Osun State Youths as Imole Corp members in the State capital yesterday.
In his address, the Governor described the programme as ” a transitional arrangement designed to provide job opportunity for the youth in the state.
This is the continuation of our efforts to creat jobs for our youths and the creation of Imole corps cut across the 332 political wards and they are to provide services in the health,security, environment and education areas, he said.
He charged the Corps to demonstrate strong commitment in whatever sector they are assigned, tasking them to justify the confidence reposed in them by working diligently.
Our administration have so many efforts put in place to tackle unemployment crisis among youths by creating enabling environment for jobs, provide financial support to small scale businesses through cooperative society, statewide infrastructure upgrade and the agropreneur programme.
Over four billion has so far been committed to small busines thereby providing a lifeline and operational loans to thousands of grass root entrepreneurs.
The Governor directed the Commissioner for Youth Development, Moshood Olagunju to enforce the performance evaluation system to ensure that the goals of the Imole corps programme are realized assuring the public that “the activities of the corps will be sujected to regular performance evaluation”.
The Commissioner in his address to the Youth corps congratulated them and tasked them to be good ambassadors of the Osun state and Nigeria at large.
I commend the Governor on his love and passion for youth development for the successful take off of the programme, he emphasized.
