FIC Report (Taraba State) – On Friday, April 10, 2026, the Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas, received the Honourable Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, at TY Danjuma House in Jalingo, the state capital.
The Minister arrived with a high powered delegation from Pure Dairy Herd, a renowned dairy company. The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to establish a Livestock Academy in Taraba State—an initiative aimed at positioning the state, and Nigeria as a whole, as a leader in dairy production.
Speaking during the visit, the Minister explained that Taraba was selected due to its vast livestock population and fertile land, both of which are highly suitable for large scale dairy production.
In his remarks, Governor Kefas expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for considering Taraba State for the initiative. He emphasized that the state is strategically positioned to drive livestock development in Nigeria.
The Governor also reaffirmed Taraba’s readiness to support the project and assured the delegation of adequate security for its successful implementation.
As part of the visit, a dairy production expert, Gavel Don, delivered a presentation outlining practical strategies through which dairy production can significantly boost revenue for both the state and the nation.
