Governor Alia Advocates increased Budgetary Provision for Nigeria Army

FIC Report (Benue State) – The executive Governor of Benue state, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia has called on members of the House committee on Army to consider additional budgetary provision for the Nigerian Army to enhance their operational capabilities.

Governor Alia stated this Wednesday 24 April, 2024 during a courtesy visit by members of the House of Representatives committee on Army who are currently on oversight tour of Army formations and unit in the state at the old Banquet Hall of Government House Makurdi.

Represented by his deputy Barr. Dr. Sam. Ode, Mni, the Governor emphasized the importance of adequately equipping the Army to enable them effectively carry out their duties, nothing that the state stands ready to provide warm accommodation and hospitality to all Army formations and unit within our borders.

He express profound gratitude to the Nigeria Army for their tireless efforts in maintaining peace and security in Benue state.

Governor Alia thanked members of the committee for dedication to their vital constructional mandate also lauded their effort in firsthand evaluation of the Army which he said will undoubtedly contribute significantly to enhancing their effectiveness in safeguarding the nation.

The leader of the delegation and deputy chairman, house of Representatives committee on Army Hon. David Ogewu said that the committee was out to perform it’s constitutional oversight functional as well as on- the- sports assessment of the ongoing projects in formations and unit of the Nigeria Army in Benue and other state of the federation.

Hon. Ogewu, member representing Oju/Obi federal constituency on behalf of members of the committee appreciated the Government and people of Benue state for the warm hospitality extended to them since their arrival in the state.
