Governor Otti Meets With Permanent Secretaries In The State Civil Service


The Governor, Dr Alex Otti has promised to prioriotize the welfare of Abia workers even as he promised to tackle Ghost Worker Syndrome in the State Civil Service.

Governor Otti who was answering questions from newsmen after an exhaustive meeting with Permanent secretaries in the state civil service held at the Micheal Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, said the current administration would tackle the issue of ghost workers syndrome headlong through forensic audit of various ministries, Agencies and Parastatals.

The Governor said he would commence a holistic approach to confirm details and genuineness of the actual amount owed Civil Servants in the State, assured that the new administration would tackle the challenges of backlogs of unpaid Salaries, Gratuities and Pensions.

The State Governor noted that the meeting with Permanent Secretaries in the State afforded him opportunity to familiarize and understand challenges facing their Ministries and the way forward.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor,Chief Ikechukwu Emetu, the Head of Service, Sir Onyii Wamah among others.
