FIC Report (Kano State) – The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has extended heartfelt New Year greetings to the people of Kano, both at home and abroad, expressing optimism for a transformative and prosperous 2025.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Director General of Media and Publicity, Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on January 1, 2025. The statement outlined the Governor’s vision for sustainable development and his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of Kano residents.
Governor Yusuf commended the resilience of Kano’s citizens in overcoming the challenges of 2024 and pledged to redouble efforts to accelerate growth in 2025. Highlighting the timely approval of the 2025 budget, the Governor described it as a strategic blueprint for advancing infrastructure, healthcare, education, and agriculture across the state.
He emphasized plans to complete ongoing road projects, enhance healthcare facilities, improve educational standards, and support farmers with essential tools to boost food production and stabilize food prices. Youth and women empowerment also featured prominently, with the Governor pledging increased access to skills acquisition programs and credit facilities for small and medium-sized businesses.
“In 2025, the result of our declaration of a state of emergency on education will continue to manifest as we allocated a lion’s share of 31 percent of the year’s budget for education, reaffirming our promise to reform the sector,” said Governor Yusuf.
The Governor called on Kano residents to remain united and supportive of the administration’s vision for development. He expressed confidence that 2025 would be a year of significant transformation, bringing improved living standards and expanded economic opportunities to every corner of the state.
Governor Yusuf’s New Year message has been met with widespread optimism, with many citizens applauding his proactive approach and ambitious plans for progress in the new year.
