Hon. Uzosike donates relief materials to constituents, urges FG to manage donations well


The Member representing Umuahia South State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. (Barr.) Jerry Uzosike has distributed some relief materials to the people of his Constituency to help cushion the negative effects of the lockdown in Abia State .
In an interview with news men after donating the relief materials through the Umuahia South Local Government COVID-19 Committee, Hon. Uzosike said he was motivated by the love he has for his Constituents who elected him into office.
He stated that it was useless to wait till election period for him to share rice and other items, describing this period of Corona virus as a trying moment for many families especially those at the rural areas.

According to him, whatever he can do to ensure that his people are taken care of, especially in this lockdown period must be done for them because they are the ones he represents.
The Lawmaker urged the Federal government to manage the monetary donations made by Individuals and Institutions for the Covid 19 and reserve some for proper equipping of the hospitals in Nigeria after this Coronavirus experience.
Hon. Uzosike also advised the people to obey government directives on the prevention measures provided by goverment and medical experts to contain the virus including hand-washing, social distancing etc.

The items donated by Hon. Uzosike are 50 bags of 50kg rice, 70 carton noodles, 200 Made in Aba face masks, 200 hand sanitizers and cash
