The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has arrived in Lisbon, Portugal, to participate in the 2026 EurAfrican Forum, scheduled to hold from 15–16 July 2026 at the Nova School of Business and Economics.

The EurAfrican Forum brings together Heads of State, Ministers, policymakers, business leaders, development partners, academics, and private sector stakeholders from Africa and Europe to deliberate on strategic issues shaping cooperation between the two continents. The 2026 edition will focus on human capital, trade and investment, energy, infrastructure, geopolitics, innovation, and technology.

As part of the Forum, Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu is scheduled to deliver the opening address during the high-level Geopolitics session on 16 July 2026, themed: “How Will Africa and Europe Navigate Global Geopolitical Turmoil?” The session will examine evolving global geopolitical dynamics and opportunities for strengthening Africa–Europe cooperation in advancing peace, security, sustainable development, and shared prosperity.

On the margins of the Forum, the Honourable Minister is expected to hold bilateral engagements with senior government officials, development partners, and business leaders aimed at advancing Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives, promoting economic diplomacy, attracting investment, and deepening strategic partnerships with Portugal and other participating countries.

Nigeria’s participation at the Forum underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening mutually beneficial partnerships with Europe and fostering dialogue on global challenges that impact Africa’s development, security, and economic transformation.
