The new Minister of Power, His Excellency, Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu has said the President, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR sent him to the Ministry of power to provide solution to the lingering problems bedeviling Power Sector.
He stated this on Monday, 6th September, 2021 as he resumed duty as the substantive Minister of Power, adding that “I am here to work with the Management and Staff of the Ministry and its Agencies”.
Engr. Aliyu enjoined the staff to be open, honest, committed, dedicated to their duties, stating “let us come on board, and see how to fix Power, …everybody should contribute, everybody should be involved, do not hide anything from me – be sincere and patriotic” he concluded.
The Honourable Minister, who was accompanied to the Ministry by his Water Resources counterpart, Engr. Suleiman Adamu Kazaure, also charged all Directors of the Ministry, and Chief Executives/Managing Directors of the Agencies to translate their titles into productivity and, be proactive and committed, for the task ahead of actualising the Mandate of the Ministry, of ensuring available and affordable Power Supply to the Nigerian public(s).
The Permanent Secretary, William Alo, in his speech warmly welcome the Honourable Minister to the Ministry, and assured him of the staff’s support, loyalty, commitment, dedication and teamwork, to help him to succeed in the onerous task ahead.
