LAGOS – (President’s Wife Office Report) – The Wife to Nigeria’s President, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari (Dr) has re-affirmed her commitment to promoting the socio-economic and political advancement of women in Nigeria through her ‘Future Assured Programme.’
She was speaking at the “NEXT LEVEL” Thank you Celebration and Luncheon which held at the Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos on Saturday 16th of March, 2019.
Aisha Buhari said that the President has already promised to engage more women and youth in his second term and urged them not to relent in the collective effort to make the NEXT LEVEL a reality.
“I wish to express my appreciation to Nigerians, especially Women and Youth for their unprecedented contribution towards our success at the election. In particular, I must mention the role played by the Women and Youth Presidential Campaign Team 1, initiated to support the APC Presidential Campaign Council,” she espoused.
The President’s Wife attributed the success of the President to the firm belief which Nigerians have in the ability of this administration’s developmental agenda to take the country to the NEXT LEVEL. She later called on the President and Vice President to continue to build on the foundation of the good works they started, in order to justify this confidence.
Speaking earlier, the Wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo in her remarks mentioned that the event was convened to celebrate with all those who contributed in one way or the other to the successful re-election of the APC to lead the country for the next four years. She noted that the party campaigned through all the states of the country, even going from door to door to ensure that the support of everyone was canvassed. She expressed happiness that Nigerians responded positively to the campaign.
Present at the occasion were entertainers like KWAM 1, Daddy Showkey and Sugar Band. Goodwill messages were delivered by the Governor-elect of Lagos State – Babajide Sanwoolu, the Wife of Nasarawa State Governor – Mairo Almakura (Dr); APC Woman Leader – Salamatu Baiwa; Buba Marwa (Gen Rtd) and Joke Silva.
Preceding the event was the visit to Lagos Island General Hospital by Aisha Buhari, where she interacted with victims of the Itapaji mishap.
