FIC Report (Osun State) – The Inspector General of police,Tunji Disu has warned the political parties and the people of Osun state in general to desist from any form of violence before,during and after the election slated for August 15 in the state.
The police chief gave the warning during his official engagement to both the State Government and police headquarters regarding the lingering political violence in the state.
“I deliberately visited Osun state to engaged with the political parties and other stakeholders on the need to prevent political violence in the forth coming governorship election as nobody will commit crime or kill anyone and go scot-free” he said.
He emphasized that the period is for election and not war because he has received a lots of reports against various political parties. We will provide conducive environment both for campaign and election periods when the time comes.
While receiving the IGP at the government house, the Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke declared that no one including the member of his family should be spared if found culpable of any criminal offense as he urged the Nigeria Police Force to enforce the law without fear or favour.
“I will continue to cooperate with the police, the police are our friends “, the Governor said.
