Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has officially flagged off the construction and reconstruction of Obohia – Ohuru – Obeaja- Osusu Aku – Aba Road, connecting Ukwa East, Ugwunagbo and Aba South Local Government Areas with an assurance that the project will receive all necessary attention to ensure its completion.
Flagging off the road construction at Ohuru Ndoki, Governor Ikpeazu said that the road which is strategic will give relief to the three LGA’S. He said the construction which takes off from Obohia-Ohuru, traverses some parts of Ugwunagbo and terminates at Ngwa Road, in Aba South LGA .
He assured that the road will be pursued with the urgency it deserves.
Governor Ikpeazu, who called on the benefiting communities to own the project and protect the working materials, also stressed the need for the Youths to cooperate with the contractor to ensure timely completion of the project.
Also speaking, the PDP State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Asiforo Okere said that the Obohia road is very strategic as it links up Ukwa East, Ugwunagbo and Aba South LGAs.
He however ,described the project as one of the best things that will happen to the communities.
Earlier, the Governor paid traditional homage to the palace of the Traditional Ruler of Ohuru Ndoki Community in Ukwa East LGA, Eze Obinna Nwagbara who noted that the road has remained deplorable since the time of Late Sam Mbakwe, as efforts to fix it have not yielded result.
He thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for flagging off the road which he said connects Ukwa East, Ugwunagbo and Aba South LGAs.
Honorable Commissioner for Works, Elder Bob Chiedozie Ogu, and some officials of the State Government and prominent Sons of Ugwunagbo and Ukwa East LGAs were part of the event.
