FIC Report (Osun State) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent Governor of Osun State and candidate of the Accord Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the winner of the 15th August,2026 Osun State Governorship Election
Adeleke was reelected with total votes of 511,067 to defeat the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebanji who secured 444,815 votes across the 30 local government areas of the state.
The result gives Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes over his closest challenger.
The returning officer, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole declared the winner in the early of Sunday 16th August,2026 at the headquarters of INEC, Osogbo.
The election recorded a total of 1,005,800 votes cast, comprising 985,079 valid votes and 20,721 rejected votes.
Other political parties that recorded votes are ADC 17,180, ADP 2,946, ZLP 2,482, AA 2,308, APGA 1,474, AAC1,458, YPP 534, APM 234, SDP155, APP 114, PP 111, NLPP 118 and PRP 83.
The 15 political parties that participated in the election were also called upon to sign the final result sheet.
Adeleke’s victory marks another electoral milestone for the governor, who has now secured a second term mandate from the people of Osun State under the platform of the Accord Party.
