Information and Culture Ministry partners to lead change in children, youth in Nigeria towards achieving Global Goals in 2030

The Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed along with other notable achievers and game changers will officially launch CYIAC Corruption Busters (CCB) at the FilmHouse IMAX Cinema, Lekki on December 9, 2017 to mark United Nations International Anti-Corruption Day.  
 
The Ministry of Information and Culture is partnering with Creative Youth Initiative Against Corruption under the Change Begins With Meprogramme to promote culture of integrity, curb corruption among children, youth and adults through creative, innovation and entrepreneurship development in Nigeria and Africa.
 
The CYIAC Nationwide Creative Challenge with the theme “Imagine the World Free From Corruption is ongoing, the contest is open to children and youth in Primary and Secondary (public and private) schools, and undergraduates below the age of 25.  Participants will be required to submit essays, short stories or creative ideas online, based on the theme. This will be followed by virtual interview and screening exercise from January 27, 2018.  CYIAC campaign is focusing on corruption; which is the biggest impediments to achieving Sustainable Development Goals. The partnership with the ministry will promote creativity, develop talents and build confidence whilst encouraging culture of integrity amongst children and youth.  Furthermore, children and youth will be provided with capabilities they require to become economically productive, develop sustainable livelihoods, contribute to peace, justice and strong institutions and take bold steps in creating the future they desire through creative thinking and innovation.
 
A renowned, award winning actress, Bimbo Akintola was appointed on November 30, 2017 as CYIAC Goodwill Ambassador to help raise global awareness to promote culture of integrity, curb corruption among children, youth and adults through educational and creative development in Nigeria.
 
The Project Director, Foluke Michael stated that the CCB is our contribution towards achieving global goals in 2030.  In line the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, CYIaC will achieve culture of integrity and a nation free from corruption through educational development in Literary Arts, Paintings, Digital Communication, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Sustainable Housing and Information Technology.
