FIC Report (Delta State) – The Delta State Police Command, under the leadership of CP. Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, has activated a comprehensive and intelligence-led security framework for the 2026 computer-based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) which commenced Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 25, 2026, with operatives strategically deployed to all thirty-one (31) accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the State for a secure and hitch-free exercise conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The disclosure was contained in a press statement by the Command’s image maker, SP. Bright Edafe who noted that the Commissioner of Police directed all Area Commanders whose jurisdictions host CBT centres to assume full responsibility for security at the centres, ensuring strict supervision of personnel, sustained visibility policing, rapid response capability and close coordination with Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders and examination officials, with particular focus on intelligence gathering and the protection of ICT infrastructure against any attempt to compromise the integrity of the examination.
The Command reiterates that examination malpractice, impersonation, or any form of disorderly conduct will not be tolerated, stressing that offenders will be promptly arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law, while candidates were advised to comply with all guidelines, conduct themselves responsibly and arrive early at their respective centres.
The CP reassured residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property and called on members of the public to remain vigilant and support security agencies with credible and timely information.
