FIC REPORT (KADUNA STATE) – The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has donated brand-new buses to five key institutions and professional bodies in the state as part of efforts to strengthen their operational capacity and address transportation and mobility challenges.
The beneficiaries are the Kaduna State University (KASU), Kaduna State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), and the Nigerian Correctional Service.
Governor Uba Sani presented the vehicles to representatives of the beneficiary institutions on Tuesday in Kaduna, describing them as critical stakeholders whose contributions remain essential to the development and progress of the state.
Sani said the donation was intended to provide the organisations and institutions with improved mobility and enhance their ability to effectively discharge their responsibilities.
According to him, the beneficiaries have continued to make significant contributions to the development of Kaduna State, making it necessary for the government to support them in overcoming some of their operational challenges.
UBA said handing over the vehicles to the beneficiaries. All the five very critical institutions that were given these vehicles today are very important organisations and have done a lot in contributing towards the development of our state.
He reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to building strong partnerships with professional bodies, academic institutions and other critical stakeholders in order to promote good governance and accelerate development across Kaduna State.
KASU Hails Governor’s Gesture
Receiving the bus on behalf of Kaduna State University, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Musa, described the donation as a historic development for the institution.
Professor Musa expressed appreciation to Governor Uba Sani for what he described as a demonstration of generosity, care and commitment to the welfare and development of the university.
He said we wish to sincerely appreciate our very dear Governor, our home Governor, the Governor of the people, for his generosity, his care, for donating a brand-new bus for our university.
Musa noted that the vehicle would significantly improve the university’s transportation capacity and support its academic and administrative activities.
NUJ Applauds Governor Uba Sani
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Kaduna State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, AbdulGafar Alabelewe, expressed appreciation to Governor Uba Sani for fulfilling the union’s request for a new vehicle.
Alabelewe recalled that the NUJ had made the request about six months ago during a Ramadan Iftar with the Governor, expressing delight that the administration had responded positively.
He described the presentation as a major milestone for the Kaduna State Council of the NUJ, noting that the union had not received a similar gesture from the state government in approximately two decades.
Adewale said today, history is being made because we are not just getting a bus; we are getting a luxury bus, for that matter.
Gaffar explained that the union’s previous vehicle had become unserviceable, thereby creating difficulties in transporting journalists to assignments across the state.
Chairman said the new bus would greatly enhance the mobility of journalists and facilitate their coverage of government activities, events and developments across Kaduna State.
The donation underscores the Kaduna State Government’s commitment to strengthening institutions and professional bodies that play important roles in education, healthcare, justice, public information, media development and public safety.
