Kano State Government Donates N100 Million to Jigawa Fire Victims

FIC Report (Kano STate) – The Kano State Government has extended a helping hand to the victims of the recent fire disaster in Majia, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State, with a generous donation of N100 million. Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf announced the donation during a condolence visit to Governor Umar Namadi Danmodi at the Government House in Dutse on Thursday.

The donation aims to provide relief to the families of those who lost their lives and support the treatment of those injured in the fire. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf emphasized the strong historical and cultural ties between Kano and Jigawa States, underscoring Kano’s solidarity with its neighbors during this time of grief.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and those recovering from injuries, offering prayers for the Almighty to prevent future tragedies of this nature. His gesture demonstrates Kano State’s commitment to supporting its neighboring states in times of need.

According to Governor Umar Namadi, as of Thursday evening, 167 lives had been lost, and 67 people were receiving treatment at various medical facilities within and outside the state. He expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the people of Jigawa State, thanking Kano State for its generous support during this difficult time.

Governor Namadi assured that the funds would be judiciously used to aid the victims and their families. This donation serves as a testament to the strong bond between Kano and Jigawa States, demonstrating the willingness of neighboring states to come together in times of crisis.
