The Federal Government has intensified efforts to harmonise the 2027 external examination timetable, targeting the release of results by August 2027 to facilitate tertiary admissions from September.

The initiative aligns with the education reform agenda of the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, under the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI), which promotes efficiency, coordination and improved educational outcomes.

To advance this objective, the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, convened a meeting with heads and representatives of examination bodies at the Federal Ministry of Education Headquarters, Abuja. Discussions focused on aligning examination schedules, minimising timetable clashes and ensuring timely results processing.

The proposed 2027 timetable is as follows:

• JAMB-UTME: 15–25 March; results in March 2027.
• NECO-SSCE: 1 April–14 May; results in August 2027.
• WAEC-WASSCE: 11 May–18 June; results in August 2027.
• NABTEB: 1 June–5 July; results in August 2027.
• NBAIS: 10 June–9 July; results in August 2027.

The Ministry will sustain engagement with examination bodies to promote adherence to the proposed timelines, strengthen accountability and support timely tertiary admissions.

The Federal Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, remains committed to advancing education reforms through NESRI.
