In a strategic step to ensure that the Renewed Hope Mantra of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration covers Nigerian women in the enrolment with the National Identity Card Management (NIMC), the Director-General, Mayam Babangida National Centre for Women Development (MBNCWD) Hon Dr Asabe Vilita Bashir has accepted to partner with the Agency to give Nigerian women their sense of belonging.

Dr Bashir gave this assurance today in her office when she received in audience, the Coordinator, North Central Regional Office of NIMC, Dr Martha Maigari and her team on a courtesy visit.

Assuring them of the Centre’s readiness to partner with their agency, the MBNCWD Boss said that their visit was very timely and apt since the Centre will be in the forefront of women enrolment across the length and breadth of the country especially the northern part where women are traditionally restricted.

Earlier in her speech, the leader of the team, Dr Martha Maigari stated that the essence of their visit was in two folds, to sensitize the Centre on the mandate of their Agency (NIMC) and partner with Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development in capturing and enrolment of Nigerian women in the northern part of the country where traditionally, women are restricted. She assured that her Agency has provided them with KOICA, an android enrolment device pre-installed with NIMC software with fingerprint to aid them in capturing these women in their homes.

Commending the DG for her reception, Dr Maigari stated that her agency is working assiduously in ensuring that all Nigerian Citizens from zero age to sixteen years will be captured under this project while the NIN of all captured under aged will be attached to the parent until they turn sixteen years to be enrol and given their NIN.

The highlight of the event was the group photograph with the DG, management staff and the NIMC team.
