The Ministry of Interior celebrated the retirement of two of its Directors, Mr. Afonja Ajibola Fatai and Mr. Peter Onoja, on Friday.
Mr. Fatai, who served as the Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations, and Mr. Onoja, who headed the Human Resources Management Department, retired after reaching the age of sixty and completing thirty-five years of service, respectively.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Aishatu Gogo Ndayako, hosted a valedictory session in their honour and commended them for their dedication and achievements.
She advised the retirees to stay active and involved in their communities and pursue meaningful endeavours that would benefit the society.
Dr. Gogo Ndayako also noted that the retirees had spent most of their time in the office while in service, adding, “but now you have time to look after yourselves.”
She presented them with gifts of plasma TVs of different sizes as a token of appreciation from the Ministry.
The event was attended by other Directors and staff of the Ministry, who wished the retirees well in their future endeavours.
