Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYD) has taken significant steps in signing the Performance Management System (PMS) to measure performance, identify areas of growth, reward outstanding achievement to enhance accountability, productivity, and excellence in service delivery, aligned with the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2021-2025.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olubunmi Olusanya, and the Management Staff of the Ministry at his office in Abuja.
The Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olubunmi Olusanya stated that the signing of the performance contract by all Directors/Heads of units signifies their dedication to transparency and result-driven governance, noting that the ceremony marked the commencement of the Employee Performance Management System (EPMS), symbolized by the handover of MPMS from Director, Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) to Director, Human Resources Management (HRM).
He instructed that the PMS jackets and caps must be worn every Thursday to support the overall civil service goal to ensure that the system is successfully institutionalized. He appreciated everyone who contributed to the success of the PMS while adding that the Ministry will not relent until every staff has signed his Performance Contract and the PMS is fully implemented in the Federal Ministry of Youth Development.
In his closing address, the Director, Human Resources Management, FMYD, Chukwuma A.N. urged all Ministry staff to actively champion the Performance Management Reform initiative in order to propel the realization of the current Administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
