Nasarawa State Governor Task Mining Investors on Environmental Assessment

FIC Report (Nasarawa State) – Nasarawa State governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule has tasked the mining Investors with Mining Prospect in the State to ensure they carry out environmental Impact Assessment and Process all Solid Minerals mined in the State.

Governor Sule gave the task during a meeting with Chinese Mining Investors in Lafia, the State Capital recently.

He appreciate them for the interest they shown in investing in the state, explaining that, for their investment to be Successful they must adhere to the rule of engagement by carryout environmental impact Assessment, land reclamation after Mining, providing corporate social responsibilities and create job opportunities to the host communities.

Governor Sule while calling on them to make positive impact on the host communities, nothing that government would also support them in the area of security, roads and other amenities that would make the environment conducive for investment.

Earlier leader of the Chinese Mining team Mr. Tom Liu explained that Nasarawa State is conducive and blessed with Abundant Mineral deposit, hence their interest to Mine Lithium as well as invest in Agriculture and other Businesses in the State.

He also reiterated the Chinese mining company’s commitment and willingness to continue to invest in several areas of their interest in the State.

Tom Liu added that, their companies is planning to spend not less than three hundred billion Dollars in the state as the has conducive business environment for their business.

In another development, The National Insurance Commission (NIC) has been applauded for playing Key role in the Sustainable infrastructural development of the Country.

Governor Abdullahi Sule made this known when the Commissioner/ Chief Executive Officer, National insurance Commission Mr. Thomas Oluwadare Sunday led other top management of the commission on a Visit at his office in Lafia recently.

Governor while describing insurance as one of the Agency that plays a vital role for sustainable infrastructural development across the Country, however explained that his administration is committed and ready to work closely with the insurance for the overall growth and development of the state.

Earlier, the Commissioner National insurance Commission Mr. Thomas Oluwadare Sunday said their visit to the state was to intimate the governor on several benefit of insurance for societal growth and development.
