The Federal Government has received and lit the Torch of Unity for the 19th National Sports Festival, and It is now ready to tour the Six Geo-Political Zones of the Country. Receiving the lit Touch of Unity at the 58th Independence Day Dinner and Gala Night, the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, said Nigeria is a blessed nation with highly talented hard working and rated happiest and most humourous people on Earth.
The Vice – President who was supported by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Barr. Solomon Dalung, the Permanent Secretary Mr. Adesola Olusade and Green Field Assets Ltd, Mr. Paul Obanu said the Festival is a rallying point of Nigeria unity, and should therefore be taken seriously.
The event was attended by dignitaries and athletes such as Falilat Ogunkoya and Mr. Chika Chukwumerije who actually received the Touch for its tour to the Zones which now commences.
