The Executive Secretary National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, Chief Ayuba Gufwan has reiterated the Commission’s stance towards ensuring inclusive policies amongst all clusters of disabilities in line with the Renewed Hope policies of the present administration.
The ES made this assurance recently in Abuja during a parley with a delegation from the Pioneers of the Nigerian National and International Disability Civil Rights Movement and Policy Chapters, a disability advocacy Group.
Speaking at the event, Gufwan commended the Group for their support and trust in his ability to lead the Commission to the next level.
“We are willing to work with all clusters of Persons with Disabilities for the benefits of our people and to entrench the agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s led administration”, he said.
The ES further assured of his resolve to run an open door policy in order to achieve the task of “leaving no one behind”.
“We are open to partnering with National and International bodies to ensure that the rights and privileges of persons with disabilities are protected as stipulated by the prohibition Act, 2018,” he disclosed.
Earlier in his address, the spokesman of the Group, Mr Job Napoleon pledged the Group’s readiness to partner with the Commission towards achieving its official order.
He further congratulated the Executive Secretary on his appointment by Mr President to lead the disability Community in Nigeria, stating that it is a call to service.
Also present at the meeting were Mrs. Omotunde, a chieftain of disability Rights, and other Stakeholders who expressed their trust and support for the new Executive Secretary.
