NEPC Tasks Miners On Global Best Practice

FIC Report (Nasarawa State) – The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Lafia smart office, in Nasarawa state has called on miners in the state to always explore the advice of expert in order to make their products meet export standards and be accepted in the global market.

The Chief Executive Officer of the NEPC, Dr. Ezra Yakusak, made the calls at a workshop on practical demonstration of gemstone faceting while declaring the workshop open in Keffi, Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa state recently in the state.

The NEOC CEO was represented by the state co-coordinator, Mallm Aliyu Osana Oji, said the workshop was aimed at creating awareness on miners in the state to add value to their products.

He stated that, the state office, as part of its responsibility, it will continue to sensitize miners on the best way of improving their businesses.

Dr. Yakusak urged the participants to put the lesson learned into practices in order to better their economy prospects in mining industry.

On his part, head of products development, Dr. Daniel Itodo, pointed out that the programme was organized basically to add value to gemstone in the state.

The resource person at the workshop, the general manager Lustregema and Jeweler Hub, Mr. Gerald Muoeboh, said the capacity workshop was in line with the ministry of Solid mineral and the NEPC policy direction.

Mr. Gerald Muoeboh added that the training is to acquaint the participants with requisite knowledge on how to utilize Gemstone for export.
