As the first Black republic to attain independence, Haiti occupies a unique and enduring place in world history, inspiring generations across Africa and the African diaspora in the collective pursuit of liberty, justice, and equality.
Nigeria joins the Government and people of Haiti in commemorating this significant milestone and reaffirms its solidarity with the Haitian nation as it continues its efforts toward peace, stability, and sustainable development. Nigeria underscores the importance of unity, resilience, and inclusive governance in addressing contemporary challenges and advancing national renewal.
Nigeria and Haiti share historical bonds rooted in common heritage and shared values, and Nigeria remains committed to strengthening bilateral relations through diplomatic engagement, cultural exchange, and cooperation within multilateral frameworks, including the United Nations and other international platforms, in support of global peace and development.
