Nigeria is set to host Inaugural International Hydrogen Conference

The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Ministry of Petroleum Resources in collaboration with the Foundation for Sustainable Social Responsibility in Emerging Africa (FOSSREA) will host the country’s first International Hydrogen Conference, from Tuesday 26th to Thursday 28th November 2024, at the State House Banquet Hall – Aso Villa in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

This landmark event with the theme “Building a Hydrogen Economy for Nigeria ” aims to promote hydrogen as a clean energy source with vast potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve energy efficiency, create jobs and  above all boost economic growth.

The conference will convene over 1,000 attendees, including exhibitors, public and private sector investors from Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas. It is  believed that the diverse gathering will foster partnerships  towards shaping and securing Nigeria’s energy future.

The Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo  is the Chief Host of the conference and his counterparts, the Nigerian Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Industry, Trade and Investment are expected to join industry leaders, stakeholders and other policymakers as this conference unlocks the potential of hydrogen to power and build a resilient energy future for Nigeria.

Also, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Amb. Nicholas Agbo Ella, Directors in the Ministry as well as Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and Directors from the Agencies under the supervision of the Ministry will be in attendance.

Highlights of the Conference will include- Cutting-edge research and innovative technologies; Expert insights on investment opportunities; Exhibitions showcasing latest trends and innovations; Networking sessions with decision-makers, industry leaders, and policymakers

Discussions will focus on key topics including the blue and green hydrogen production; Investment opportunities; Supply chain development; Policy frameworks; Technology transfer; Infrastructure development and Unlocking Nigeria’s Hydrogen Potential.
