FIC Report (Kano State) – A commencement ceremony marked the beginning of the Nigerian Agritourism Village Project in Kano. Prince Akinloye Ogunmodede, representing Ambassador Arc Trust Henry Ogbol, delivered a keynote speech focusing on national and international issues.
The project promotes food security, sufficient food production, and rural development through public-private partnerships. Recent technological advancements and government campaigns support farmers in growing crops like cassava.
Ogunmodede emphasized the need for investment in storage and preservation infrastructure to expedite Nigeria’s food security journey. He highlighted agritourism and food security as vital tools for strengthening international relationships.
Agritourism allows countries to showcase rural heritage, promote cultural exchange, and generate income. It bridges cultural gaps and builds trust among nations.
Ogunmodede urged stakeholders to encourage policy frameworks, public-private partnerships, and engagement in agritourism and food security initiatives.
Notable attendees included State Coordinator Nura Danjuma, representatives from Agriculture and Water Resources Commissioners, and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.
