The Director-General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to shared growth and development through Technical Assistance, describing the agency as a vital instrument in implementing Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives. Speaking in Harare, Zimbabwe, on Wednesday, the DG emphasized NTAC’s readiness to support Zimbabwe’s developmental needs, aligning with President Tinubu’s 4-D Foreign Policy Initiative.
During separate engagements with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ministry of Health and Child Care, and Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, the NTAC DG highlighted the need for Nigeria and Zimbabwe to expand diplomatic ties, enhance Technical partnerships, and align developmental goals through the Technical Aid Scheme.
The DG stated, “Through our Technical manpower assistance, we have succeeded in deepening South-South Cooperation across the globe. We have also enhanced capacities and built skills in critical sectors of nation-building, particularly through Technical Volunteerism and Soft Power Diplomacy. This program is close to the heart of our President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who insists that our sister-nations in Africa and other parts of the world must be encouraged to share development initiatives that will leave no nation behind.”

The Nigerian delegation met with key officials, including Mrs. Bernadette Ntaba-Kadyamusuma, Acting Chief Director, Political Affairs, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade; Hon. Dr. Douglas T. Mombeshora and his team at the Ministry of Health and Child Care; and Hon. Torerayi Moyo at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. Discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration in Public Health, Teacher Training, Technical Education, and Curriculum Support.
Through this visit, NTAC has further cemented its role as a flagship agency promoting Nigeria’s foreign policy goals through Soft Power and People-to-People Relations.
