Olubunmi expresses concern over Inmates Plight

Hon Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo expresses concern for the feeding condition of the inmates. He said though is beyond what the authority of the Correctional Service will do.

The Minister revealed that the amount for feeding an inmate is seven hundred and fifty (N750) only, per day which is grossly inadequate.

He said his ministry had already written a memo to Mr. President for approval of increment of the feeding amount.

The Minister made the expression while hosting Chairman and Managing Director of Brand Investment Solution Limited Mr. Olasetemi Daniel, on Tuesday in Abuja.

He said, “I am particularly concerned about Correctional Service on how people treat them”.

Tunji-Ojo commended the organisation for the visit and their kind words, assured that he is willing to partner with the organisation, stating that no single person has a solution to problems.

He subsequently referred the  Managing Director of the organisation to Director Joint Services Dr. Peter Egbodo for further discussion on the collaboration.

Speaking earlier,the Chairman and Managing Director of Brand Investment Solution Mr. Olasetemi Daniel, commended the Minister for solving the perennial problems associated with passport issuance and wished him success in his new assignment.

He also conversed for partnership with the Ministry on area of Correctional Service as it affects feeding condition of the inmates, and security in schools, where he advocated for taken leverage of technology in securing schools for surveillance, as security men cannot cover every space.
