The Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade, Commerce and Industry, Chief Nwaka Inem, has expressed the present administration’s commitment to fixing the deplorable portion of the Ovom-Opobo road leading to the newly built Ovom Auto Mechanic and Spare Parts Cluster in Aba.
Chief Inem stated this after being conducted round the Ovom Auto Mechanic and Spare parts Cluster, Aba in company of the Team from Aba Town Planning Authority.
The Governor’s Aide during a visit assured that the administration of Governor Alex Otti will support the project and provide necessary facilities for spare parts dealers and others moving into the new site.
He praised the project as a noble one and emphasized that the administration’s goal is to open up Aba to greater economic opportunities.
From the government’s perspective, we are committed to ensuring the prompt repair of this road. We want to emphasize that the government is fully dedicated to promoting the optimal utilization of this facility. Rest assured, this area will not remain inactive; we are determined to revitalize it.
“Our goal is to transform Aba into a cleaner, more business-friendly city that aligns with international standards. We are determined to prevent building collapses that often result from regulatory agencies approving structures due to bribery and corruption.
“Under the leadership of Alex Otti, the government has implemented measures to ensure that all upcoming structures adhere to essential safety standards”, Inem noted.
The Governor’s Aide urged the Developer to maintain basic regulatory standards for the project, warning that the administration would only support projects that meet these standards.
The Developer, Chief Godfrey Irogbaraobi, promised to expedite speedy action on the remaining work for the timely utilization of the Ovom Auto mechanic and Spare parts Cluster project.
He called for the reconstruction of the failed portion of the Ovom-Opobo road to ensure easy access to the Cluster.
