President Tinubu visits Maiduguri to assess flood damage

FIC Report (Borno State) – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived Maiduguri city on Monday, September 16, 2024.

President Tinubu is expected in the city to commiserate with victims of the September 10th Flood, which destroyed many lives, properties and infrastructure.

It would be recalled that the president has dispatched his vice, Kashim Shettima, who came on Monday to assess the situation and announce the federal government’s donation of N3b.

President Tinubu, who was received at the airport by the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum amongst other dignitaries, paid a condolence visit to the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai, to offer his sympathies and support.

He revealed that he had adjusted his travel plans, originally scheduled to travel directly to America from the UK, to personally visit the Shehu and the people of Borno.

During his visit, President Tinubu expressed his commitment to supporting the rehabilitation efforts in the state, demonstrating his solidarity with the affected communities.
